WHAT YOUR GENEROSITY DOES

When you support the Greater Riverdale Cares & Route One Communities Care initiative, you are feeding residents facing food insecurity and supporting restaurants in the Prince George’s County towns of Riverdale, Hyattsville and College Park.

How it works:

Participating restaurants are given a stipend to cook nutritious meals on a weekly basis that are then distributed to community members at sites serving our local communities.

Your gift provides:

• Nutritious meals for individuals, children, and families struggling to make ends meet;

• Sustainable income for locally owned and operated restaurants that are struggling to make up for lost revenue from the shut-down;

• Relief for individuals and their families who now won’t have to wonder when or how they will get their next meal;

• Increased job security for small restaurant owners and their staff.

This model has proven successful in neighboring counties and satisfies individual needs at the same time that it sustains local economies.

As members of a coalition of concerned Prince George’s County citizens, we created Route One Communities Care in partnership with the Greater Riverdale Cares initiative. This initiative is made possible through Central Kenilworth Avenue Revitalization Community Development Corporation.
