a transfer or go online to download a transfer form.

  2. make sure your transfer is directed to:

Central kenilworth avenue Revitalization Community development corporation
    6801 kenilworth avenue
    Suite 203
    riverdale, md 20737

  3. ask that your transfer be allocated to the Greater Riverdale Cares & route one communities care initiative.

If you are age 70½ or older and have savings in an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), you can use them to support causes that are important to you and take advantage of tax benefits.

Simply contact your IRA Custodian to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Your IRA Custodian will directly transfer funds to support the cause you designate.

Some benefits to you:

  • Funds can be used for charitable giving without impacting your daily finances.

  • You reduce your taxable income when you give directly to charity rather than taking a distribution from your IRA for yourself.

  • In years that a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) is in effect* for IRA holders ages 72+, a gift directly to charity from your IRA can count toward your RMD.

To qualify for making a gift from your IRA, you must:

  • Be at least age 70½ or older.

  • Have a qualified IRA. Check with your IRA Custodian to confirm.
